Leh Sightseeing – Magnetic Hill, Sangam & Sham Valley

High Altitude & Acclimatization

  • Leh is at an altitude of 11,562 feet (3,524 m) above sea level.
  • Altitude sickness is common – consult your doctor before traveling.
  • Day 1 is strictly for rest and acclimatization – no sightseeing.
  • Avoid alcohol and smoking on the first day.
  • Stay hydrated – drink plenty of water.
  • Carry Diamox (altitude sickness medication) after consulting your doctor.
  • If you experience severe headache, nausea, or breathlessness, inform your guide immediately.

Best Time to Visit

  • June to September – Peak season, pleasant weather, all roads open.

  • Indian citizens require Inner Line Permits (ILP) for Nubra, Pangong, and Hanley.
